Solar FAQs

How much does a solar system cost in Pakistan?+
Solar system costs vary by size and type. A typical residential system (5–10KW) costs Rs 750,000–1,500,000. Commercial systems (50–200KW) range from Rs 7.5M–30M. Industrial systems (500KW+) are quoted on a per-project basis. AL RIZQ provides detailed, fixed-price quotations after a free site survey. Use our solar calculator for an instant estimate.
What is the difference between on-grid and hybrid solar systems?+
On-grid systems connect directly to the electricity grid (WAPDA/K-Electric) and export surplus power through net metering — they stop working during power outages (for safety). Hybrid systems include battery storage, so you get backup power during loadshedding while still benefiting from grid connection and net metering. Hybrid is ideal for businesses and homes that cannot tolerate downtime.
How long does installation take?+
Residential systems (5–20KW) typically take 2–5 days to install. Commercial systems (50–200KW) take 1–3 weeks. Large industrial systems (500KW+) take 4–12 weeks depending on structural work and equipment delivery. Net metering activation after installation usually takes an additional 4–8 weeks through DISCO.
What is net metering and how does it work in Pakistan?+
Net metering allows solar system owners to export surplus electricity back to the national grid and receive credit on their electricity bills. In Pakistan, net metering is regulated by NEPRA and is available to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers. AL RIZQ handles the complete net metering process — from NEPRA application and DISCO coordination to bidirectional meter installation. Typical timeline is 4–8 weeks after system installation.
How much can I save on my electricity bill with solar?+
Most customers reduce their electricity bills by 70–90% with a properly sized solar system. The exact savings depend on your current consumption, system size, and whether you have net metering. Use our online Solar Savings Calculator to get an instant estimate based on your monthly bill. Our customers in the AL RIZQ portfolio are saving millions of rupees per month.
How long do solar panels last?+
Quality solar panels (Tier-1 brands like Longi, Jinko, Canadian Solar) have a performance warranty of 25 years and can operate for 30+ years. They are guaranteed to produce at least 80% of their rated output after 25 years. Inverters typically last 10–15 years and may need replacement once during the panel lifespan. AL RIZQ supplies only Tier-1 panels with full manufacturer warranties.
What solar system size do I need?+
System size depends on your monthly electricity consumption and available roof or ground area. As a rough guide: Rs 10,000/month bill requires approximately 3–4KW; Rs 50,000/month requires 15–18KW; Rs 200,000/month requires 60–70KW; Rs 1,000,000/month requires 300–350KW. Use our calculator for an instant estimate, and our engineers will conduct a detailed analysis during your free site survey.
Do you provide maintenance services?+
Yes — AL RIZQ provides annual maintenance contracts (AMC), remote performance monitoring, panel cleaning, inverter servicing, and prompt on-site support. For all industrial solar projects, we include 1 Year FREE Maintenance as part of the project package. Residential and commercial clients can opt into our AMC plans.
Do you fabricate the solar mounting structures?+
Yes — this is one of AL RIZQ's key differentiators. We design and fabricate all solar mounting structures in-house using hot-dip galvanized steel. We do not subcontract structural work, which means better quality control, faster delivery, and full accountability on every project. We provide all structure types: roof mount, ground mount, car parking, elevated, and heavy-duty industrial structures.
What brands of solar panels and inverters do you supply?+
AL RIZQ sources panels from Tier-1 manufacturers including Longi Solar, Jinko Solar, Canadian Solar, and other globally certified brands. For inverters, we work with Huawei, Sungrow, Growatt, Goodwe, and other premium brands. Battery storage includes Pylontech, CATL, and other certified lithium/LiFePO4 brands. All products come with full manufacturer warranties and are backed by our installation guarantee.
What is the payback period for solar in Pakistan?+
With current electricity tariffs, typical payback periods are: Residential (5–10KW): 2.5–3.5 years; Commercial (50–200KW): 3–4 years; Industrial (500KW+): 3–5 years. After payback, the system generates essentially free electricity for 20+ additional years. With electricity prices continuing to rise, these payback periods are getting shorter every year.
